In addition to impeding with her job as a dancer, she found that she had increased neck, back and shoulder pain. She underwent bilateral breast reduction with inferior pedicles so as not to cause rotation of her nipple piercings. Her skin is still red but her scars and redness will heal over time. Patient 2 This patient had very large breasts and due to her high BMI, was told that she was not a candidate for breast reduction by other plastic surgeons she had seen. Dr. Goyal explained the increased risks given her high weight and they agreed upon a plan. She underwent bilateral breast reduction with superior pedicle (meaning there was no free nipple graft!) Patient 3 This patient underwent gastric sleeve surgery and lost over 60 pounds between her initial consultation and her breast reduction! She was diagnosed with a genetic mutation causing an increased risk of breast cancer. Prior to her breast reconstruction, she elected to undergo bilateral breast reduction to reposition her nipples to optimize her aesthetic result.
